Providing quality entertainment for more than 37 years, the Southwest Symphony has the distinction of being Southern Utah’s Finest.  We are proud to present a spectacular 2018-19 season, filled with guest artists, special traditions and many surprises.

Special pricing is available when you purchase a season ticket package early.

Experience the thrill of “Hollywood Hits” as we present a blockbuster array of talent in our annual Halloween Spooktacular. Featuring daring acts from the Cirque de Soleil troupe “Aerobatics,” powerhouse vocals staring DSU Raging Red and the captivating St. George
Dance Company. Prepared to be amazed with this evening of spectacular music guaranteed fun for the entire family. Children are welcome to wear family-friendly costumes. No masks please.

With LietoVoices! and Featured Soloists

Sunday, December 2, 2018 – 7:30 pm
The Baroque-era oratorio, “Messiah”, is a Southern Utah holiday tradition and worldwide favorite. LietoVoices! will join the Southwest Symphony and featured soloists to present selections such as “For Unto Us a Child is Born,” “Glory to God” and the venerated “Hallelujah Chorus.”

Special thanks to Dixie State University and local businesses who make this concert possible.

Tickets are not needed to attend the Messiah. This concert is a free gift to the community. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. A special seating area is being reserved for those who purchased season tickets for the Symphony.

ASL seating will be provided for both performances.

Utah Symphony Violinist David Park plays the Beethoven Violin Concerto
Saturday, January 26, 2019 – 7:30 pm
David Park, assistant concertmaster for the Utah Symphony, has been described by the Salt Lake Tribune as “…a soloist with extraordinary gifts.” One of the last students of legendary violinist Jascha Heifetz, David continues to tour the world as a featured soloist. He joins the Southwest Symphony for an evening dedicated to the music of Ludwig van Beethoven, playing the Concerto for Violin in D major. Beethoven’s enthralling Fifth Symphony will finish off an evening to remember!

The Southwest Symphony Orchestra proudly accompanies the winners of its annual concerto contest as a continued tradition of fostering the arts among young performers. Each performance represents untold years and hours of dedication to honing their craft. Join us in honoring these budding musicians and celebrating their achievement and high level of musicianship!

Tony Award Winner & Grammy Award Nominee Lisa Hopkins Seegmiller sings a tribute to Puccini
Friday, April 26, 2019 – 7:30 pm
Tony Award Winner and Grammy nominee Lisa Hopkins Seegmiller, sings a tribute to Puccini in this virtual “Trip to Italy” concert. Giacomo Puccini who has been described as “the greatest composer of Italian opera after Verdi,” is known for operatic works, including Madame Butterfly, La Bohème, and Turandot. Don’t miss experiencing a bellissimo night in Italy!

Friday, May 17, 2019 – 7:30 pm
Youth singing sensation, Lexi Walker, started her walk into fame in 2013 when she appeared as Elsa in Alex Boye’s reinterpretation Let it Go. Lexi is a singer, songwriter, and recording artist and has performed alongside Kristin Chenoweth, The Piano Guys, Lindsey Stirling. She has toured as an opening act for Clint Black and Idina Menzel. The Southwest Symphony is excited to host Lexi for this show-stopping season finale performance.
