SNEAK PEEK -- SOUTHWEST SYMPHONY’S 2019-20 SEASON
Even before our marketing materials are printed, as a supporter of the Southwest Symphony, we want to share with you a preview of our exciting 2019-20 season. 
Season tickets will go on sale August 20, 2019 for as low as $67 for all 7 concerts!
Purchase by September 20 and pay no ticketing or service fees! 
These low season ticket prices represent a savings of up to 55% over individual ticket prices.

To ensure a quality experience, children under 5 are not allowed into Southwest Symphony performances, except for the Halloween Spooktacular concert which has a minimum age of 3.

 

Vivaldi to “Viva la Vida” – Rosin Cello Duo

Masterworks Series

Featuring Cello greats Daniel Gaisford and Jessika Soli.  Music will include Vivaldi’s Double Cello Concerto, Mozart’s iconic Symphony No. 40, and the second half will feature Rosin on electric cellos playing Viva La Vida, music from Lord of the Rings, and more! Don’t miss this fusion of classical and electric cello fireworks!

Featuring Dvorak’s 9th “New World” Symphony, Smetana’s Moldau, and the Gold Medalist from the Southwest Symphony’s annual Concerto Competition.  The Moldau is a symphonic poem by Bohemian composer Bedřich Smetana that evokes the flow of the Vltava River from its source in the mountains of the Bohemian Forest, through the Czech countryside to the city of Prague.

 
Danzón:  A Journey to Latin America

Masterworks Series

Join us as we journey to Latin America with world-renowned Trumpet artist Pacho Flores joining us from Mexico, and the symphony will perform the electrifying Danzón No. 2 by Marquez.  To cap off the night we have Moncayo’s famous Huapango.

Lamb of God is a musical portrayal of the final days of the life of Jesus Christ, from the raising of Lazarus, to the devastating arrest and crucifixion of Jesus, and finally to His glorious resurrection. Composed and written by Rob Gardner, the story is told through the ever-relatable perspective of those who loved and walked with Him: Peter, John, Thomas, Mary and Martha of Bethany, Mary Magdalene and His Mother Mary.  Featuring LietoVoices! and featured soloists.

Michael Cavanaugh is the new voice of the American Rock & Roll Songbook and a charismatic performer and musician made famous for his piano/lead vocals in the Broadway musical Movin’ Out.  Handpicked by Billy Joel to star in Movin’ Out, Cavanaugh evokes a style rivaling the Piano Man. Promised to be a spectacular season closer, Michael Cavanaugh and the Southwest Symphony will present The Music of Billy Joel.
