There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening, that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost --Martha Graham
Dixie State Dance Company
Spring Dance Concert
by Brian Grob
Spring brings warmth, colors, flowers, and a newness of life. Spring brings outdoor activities and fashionistas galore. Spring brings Easter, celebration, family, and community. Spring brings dance! Come share an evening with the Dixie State Dance Company on April 5th, 6th or 7th at 7:30 PM in the Eccles Fine Arts Center Mainstage. Experience an array of styles, including: modern, ballet, jazz, tap, ballroom, hip-hop, and world dance.
Dance is about technique. It’s about collective creation. It’s about caring instruction. It’s about vulnerability, passion, humility, and heart. Our dancers brave the daily rigors of rehearsal to share a piece of their soul, their unique voice, with you! Don’t miss this opportunity to commune with our 2017-18 dance company, which includes: Kylee Arnold, Ceili Burdick, Haleigh Caldwell, Meagan Cross, Hyrum Ford, Amber Foster, Kaylyn Fulton, Jaidyn Harris, Emma Hobson, Sam Keatley, Samantha Kidd, Andrew Maynard, Shaylie Russell, Laura Stirland, Cajun Syrett, and Kelsey Wright.
Thanks to all those who work diligently behind the scenes to ensure the success of this continued bi-annual tradition of dance performance at Dixie State University. A special thanks to the Founder and Artistic Director, Dr. Li Lei, current faculty and staff, and this year’s choreographers: Lisa Clements, Bernard Gaddis, Nicole Hadley, Li Lei, Heather Madison, Jenny Mair, Elizabeth Stich, Jamie Waters, Scott Watts, and Megan Young.
Get your tickets early, as this is an event that consistently sells out from year to year. Tickets are available at the Cox Performing Arts Center ticket office: 435-652-7800 and www.dsutix.com. Adult $12, Senior/Youth $10, Student $2 with DSU student ID. We welcome all and hope you’ll join us this spring!
